Grilled ground meat patties - Grillade färsbiffar

Grillade färsbiffar

The patties are given an extra delicious flavour from the spicy grill sauce. Make a larger batch of the sauce to have enough to serve with the patties as well.

4 servings

1 to 1 1/3 lbs ground meat
(I prefer 50% beef, 50% pork)
1 egg
2 tbsps finely chopped onion
2 tbsps finely chopped green sweet pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp mild chili sauce
2 tbsps cream, 15% fat
1 tbsp Maizena or cornflour
1 to 1½ tsps salt
white pepper

Grill sauce:
good 1/3 cup mild chili sauce
scant ¼ cup water
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
a few drops of Tabasco sauce

Blend together all ingredients for the sauce.

Mix ground meat, egg and onions in a bowl. Add sweet pepper, soy sauce and chili sauce. Blend together cream and Maizena and stir this into the meat. Flavour with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 even-sized patties and put them on a rack with a pan beneath. Brush them with the sauce  and grill the patties in total 12 to 15 minutes. Turn them occasionally, the time depends on how well done you like them.

Serve with potatoes and grilled tomatoes or a salad, or in a hamburger bread with salad and dressing.
