Easy-made bread - Snabbakat brytbröd

Snabbakat brytbröd

Why not start the day with a freshly baked bread? Serve it still warm with butter, cheese and marmalade/jam.

1 bread, 12 pieces (you break it apart)

2 cups flour
2 tsps baking powder
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
½ tsp salt
½ tbsp sugar
3½ oz butter or margarine
good ¾ cup milk or soured milk

Mix flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt and sugar in a bowl. Finely divide in the flour mixture until crumbly. Add milk or soured milk and quickly work the dough together.

Flatten it out straight onto a greased baking plate (or use baking paper) to a square-shaped cake, approx ½ inch thick. Mark 12 pieces with a knife, then bake in the middle of the oven at 200C/gasmark 6 for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle with some flour when ready and serve freshly baked.
