Almond-covered muffins - Muffins med mandeltäcke

Muffins med mandeltäcke

These muffins with an almond chocolate cover are really delicious. Serve with a cup of hot cocoa topped with whipped cream!

20 to 22 muffins

2 cups flour
good 1/3 cup sugar
good 1/3 cup chopped chocolate
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 ¾ oz butter or margarine
1 cup milk
2 eggs

Almond cover:
2 tbsps chopped almonds
4 tbsps flour
3 tbsps sugar
1½ tbsps butter or margarine
dash ground cinnamon
2 tbsps chopped chocolate

Mix flour, sugar, chocolate, baking powder and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Melt the fat and mix with milk and eggs. Stir the milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Fill paper tins halfway up with batter.

Mix almonds, flour, sugar, fat and cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture on top of each muffin and stick the chopped chocolate pieces into the surface. Bake in the middle of the oven at 200C/gasmark 6 for about 15 minutes.

Allow the muffins to cool on a rack and serve them.
