Alexanders spaghettilåda

Spaghetti with a spicy ground meat mix and tomatoes makes a wonderful oven dish. Bake it in the oven until the cheese has melted and is nicely coloured.

4 servings

½ onion
½ green sweet pepper
1 can whole tomatoes, 14 oz
1 tbsp butter or margarine
14 oz ground beef
1 cup water
1 meat bouillon cube
½ to 1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried basil
½ to 1 tsp dried oregano
dash chili powder
dash white pepper
5 oz spaghetti
1 ¼ cups grated cheese

Chop the onion and finely dice the sweet pepper. Split the canned tomatoes. Melt the fat in a saucepan and sizzle the onion for a few minutes. Add the ground beef and sizzle until done. Blend in sweet pepper, tomatoes, water, bouillon cube, salt and spices in the ground meat.

Break the spaghetti in pieces and add it. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Flavour to taste and adjust if necessary. Transfer the spaghetti mix to an oven-proof dish and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Bake in the upper part of the oven at 225C/gasmark 7 for about 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is nicely coloured. Serve (if you wish you can blend good ¾ cup corn into the ground meat mix) and enjoy!
